This semester in physical education I am pretty proud of myself. I feel I have been improving each fitness class and I will continue to increase my endurance as we continue on with the year. I really want to increase my fitness levels and my stamina. I try to come to class with a positive attitude and be enthusiastic about activities. I always bring change of strip, and attend classes with the exception of excuses. I surround myself with my friends and people who motivate me to try my hardest. I definitely feel that I have improved since the beginning of the year, and hope to keep improving. I try to eat healthier and think twice about what I am putting into my body. I want to learn more about my body and work on my strengths, and develop my weaknesses.
One of my main goals that I wanted to improve was my flexibility. I find exercises and stretches and do those at home to help me achieve this goal. I can't say I have reached this goal yet, but I have seen improvements and I am determined to get there. Another thing I have been working on is my upper body strength. I will have to admit I am not as dedicated to this goal as I am to the first one, but I definitely do want to achieve this. I hope that in semester 2 I can focus a bit more on this goal and hopefully see some improvements by the end of the year! I really want to work hard and build muscles but some days I feel I have lack of motivation. I really want to work on that, however, and find something to motivate me to try my best.
For second semester, I also hope to become more of a leader within the class dynamic. I want to try and be more of an example for the grade 8's. I will try my best not to complain about certain activities even if I don't enjoy them as much. I want to see a better change in my health and fitness and I know if I have a positive mind set I can accomplish this target.
Because of these things, I think I deserve an A. I am really putting in the effort and participation to improve in P.E. I want to maintain these work habits so that I can see even more success and improvement by the end of semester 2. I definitely want to become more fit and try my best.
Sometimes when we write our goals down, we become more accountable to them and I hope that this proves the same for you Jennah. I enjoyed your post. You are a thoughtful person and this is reflected in your writing (being metacognitive of your mindset for example). I can tell that you have a mature approach to learning and I appreciate the personal and social awareness that you demonstrate in class. Lets endeavour to make your goals of improved upper body strength and flexibility measurable by attaching numbers to your performance. Ex. # of consecutive pushups, distance of a sit-and-reach... Thank you for your contribution to a healthy and positive social dynamic in class along with your leadership with the grade 8s!
